Ingredients

  • 6 cups cone-shaped corn snacks such as Bugles
  • 4 cups cheese-flavored crackers such as Cheez-It
  • 4 cups popped popcorn
  • 2 cups pretzel sticks
  • cups packed brown sugar
  • ¾ cup corn syrup
  • ¾ cup butter
  • tsp coarse salt
  • tsp vanilla extract
  • tsp baking soda
  • ½ oz vanilla-flavored candy coating
  • 1 package candy eyeballs 0.88 oz
  • 1 package candy corn 11 oz
  • 1 package candy-coated peanut butter pieces such as Reese’s Pieces, 12 oz

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 255°F (124°C). Combine the Bugles, cheese crackers, popcorn, and pretzel sticks in a large roasting pan.
  2. Bring the brown sugar, corn syrup, butter, and salt to a boil in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
  3. Remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla and baking soda.
  4. Pour the syrup over the snack mixture and stir gently to coat.
  5. Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
  6. Spread the baked mix on waxed paper in a single layer and cool completely.
  7. Microwave the candy coating for 1 minute. Stir until smooth, then attach candy eyeballs to the Bugles with small dots of coating.
  8. Transfer the cooled mix to a large bowl. Stir in the candy corn and Reese’s Pieces.
