  • pounds chicken wing sections drumettes and flats separated (680 g)
  • 2 teaspoons aluminum-free baking powder 8 g
  • ¾ teaspoon kosher salt 3 g
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder 3 g
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder 2.5 g
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika 2 g
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper 1 g
  • 1 teaspoon avocado oil for the basket (5 ml or 4.5 g)

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 380°F for 3 minutes. Lightly brush the basket with avocado oil.
  2. Pat the chicken wings completely dry with paper towels.
  3. Combine the baking powder, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and black pepper.
  4. Toss the wings with the seasoning until evenly coated.
  5. Arrange the wings in one uncrowded layer in the air-fryer basket.
  6. Cook at 380°F for 18 minutes, turning after 10 minutes.
  7. Increase the heat to 400°F and cook for 6–10 minutes, turning halfway through.
  8. Confirm the wings have reached at least 165°F, then rest them on a wire rack for 3 minutes.
  9. Serve dry-seasoned or toss lightly with warm sauce immediately before serving.
